Illegal Dumping Reaches New Low with Dead Kitten

Garbage-march22 What do rusty nails, soiled mattresses, piles of broken furniture -- and, yes, dead cats have in common? They have all been illegally dumped recently on the corner of Hawthorne and Flatbush.

Thanks to some neighbor-watchdogs, we've got a few leads on various guilty parties. If you see any one dumping residential trash on street corners in the neighborhood, please note any identifying information where possible (such as a drivers' license) and report it to the Department of Sanitation.

Grrrrr! This is seriously disturbing. I urge anyone who reads this and gets mad to follow-up with 311, the Sanitation Dept and also write to Senator Adams, Councilwoman James and Councilman Mathieu. This is outrageous!!

Barbara and I did an interview for News 12 this morning that is likely to air today at 5:30 regarding our 'hood's garbage issue. I can only hope that the dead cat is the worst of it and from here we can get help to actually do something about this.
