Community Board 9 Meeting on Tuesday, November 16
The next Community Board 9 meeting is going to be held on Tuesday, November 16, at 7 pm. Agenda items include:
1) Representatives from the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, along with City officials and a rep from architectural firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, will discuss the proposed redesign of the Botanic Gardens' original entrance on Flatbush Avenue. MVVA's best known local project is their work on the amazing Brooklyn Bridge Park.
2) Public input will be sought regarding a proposal from Pebbles Transportation Company to increase its van service from 16 vans to 26.
3) A representative from the Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project will give a presentation on Fair Housing and Foreclosure Prevention.
Want to hear more? Come on down to the meeting! Meetings are a blast, as long as you don't bring your two year old and spend the entire time trying to chase him down.

The meetings could be so much more productive if you could hear the discussions. A mic is definitely needed.

@ Denise
Or maybe you could move up and not sit on the far side or back. Just a suggestion.

Both suggestions are apt. The auditorium in which the meetings are held tends to fill with background chatter and the speakers really need to project themselves if they are to be heard at all. PLG is not terribly well represented at these meetings, and anyone who wants to learn more about what is going on in the neighborhood is encouraged to attend these meetings. Agendas can usually be found in advance of the meetings here.
That link is also a rich source of information on other topics as well!
