PLGNA Meeting Tonight
Reminder: The Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association will be holding a general meeting tonight, Monday, May 17 at the Grace Reformed Church of Flatbush, located at the corner of Lincoln Road and Bedford Avenue. The meeting will begin at 7 PM. It'll include presentations on:
- Prospect Park's Lakeside Project that will renovate the skating rink and the surrounding area and create a new park entrance at Lincoln Road.
- An update on efforts to create a "Litter-Free PLG," a project that arose from a conversation on the Lefferts Yahoo listserve!
- PLGNA committees working to make affect housing, quality of life and safety issues in the neighborhood.
- Proposed amendments to PLGNA's bylaws.

What areas do you consider PLG,i would like to attend the meeting but I love on woodruff so I don't think I would be considered a PLGer

The boundaries of the neighborhood association were set in the late 60s when PLGNA was founded. They are Ocean, Empire, New York & Clarkson Aves.

ND, I am not a member of PLGNA and can't speak for the organization. But I will personally welcome you as resident of PLG. As one who lives on Ocean Avenue -- the outermost western boundary of PLG, I've never understood why the square block between Ocean -Flatbush and Parkside- Woodruff was not included in PLG. (Although I learned just recently that when the PLG boundaries were first set, there were some who wanted the western boundary to end at Flatbush -- which would have excluded Ocean Avenue altogether!)
At any rate, and in my mind, Woodruff is only Clarkson on the west side of Flatbush. So if Clarkson "counts" as the street which defines PLG's southern boundary, then so should Woodruff -- at least the block of it that is between Flatbush and Ocean!
Btw, there are folk living on Ocean Avenue just below Parkside (including some all way down to Lenox Road) and others living just north of Empire who have a PLG mindset, contribute regularly to the Lefferts listserve, participate in PLG groups and activities and consider themselves PLGers. AFAIK, no one seriously disputes their neighborhood "adoption." And, while I wouldn't go so far as to say that the nabe boundaries should be extended to Eastern Parkway, the Junction or Utica Avenue, I certainly think that the boundaries of PLG have stretched a bit in the 50 some odd years since the original lines were set. So again, this is just my 2 cents, but they include a hearty personal "welcome!"
