Grand Opening: Lincoln Park Tavern

LRT Remember back in early March when we told you that Whiskey Sunday was reopening as a bar later that week? Um. Sorry about that.

But now, via LinRoFORMA, we are advised that the Lincoln Park Tavern is opening tonight! At 6:22 - a time that I do not know the significance of - the Tavern will open its doors and drinks will be served. Dynishal must have gotten a sneak peek because she reports that "the space feels open with a couple of cozy nooks, a pool table and best of all, a game console with Ms. Pacman!"

And with that, western* PLG has a bar again. Sweet.

Thanks, Dynishal!

*I don't want to insult Maximillian Bell's, The Inkwell or anyplace else on Rogers or Nostrand that I'm unfamiliar with.

Let's hope they finally do a decent happy hour. Two for one beers!

The Tavern is fantastic! I love the tile and wood and blend of western rustic/ old-world elegance/ and retro dive bar. Also the touches of neighborhood history. It's whiskey time!

I just wish they would ditch the TV, which sucks the life out of any small bar. Or at least keep it turned off except for big events like the Oscars, Superbowl, Olympics, Presidential Debates, etc. Long live Lincoln Park!

Stopped by on opening night. Nice atmosphere. The menu had 1 item: hamburger served from the Enduro Kitcken. I'm curious if that will be a permanent thing or there will be other options.

I hope they do well.

Would love to see:

1) a decent happy hour! (2 for 1 drinks would be amazing!)
2) some bar snacks - simple but nice to have something to much on if it is just going to be a drink place with a limited menu
3) Some live music? The could probably set up a small band in the back nook where the Whiskey Sunday smoker used to be.
4) It was a little dark. It kinda goes with the atmosphere they're trying to set up but I have a hard time going into a dark bar on a nice evening. Maybe they'll be able to do some outdoor seating? That would be sweet, I'd love to sit for a few beers on the sidewalk and watch the dog walkers go by.

Went the other night and loved the bar. Spacious and great atmosphere. But it is a bummer they aren't doing a good happy hour like a lot of the bars over in Prospect Heights. It is nice if we have no other options, but while Soda Bar and others are doing 3 dollar premium pints for happy hour, I will make the trek over there.

Bar is ok.

I'm not an entrepreneur, but wouldn't it be wise to do some kind of opening specials??

$3 shaefer? please. this is flatbush. $2.50 at most. At these prices I might as well head to Park Slope.

Come on guys. I'm rooting for you. Don't blow it.

Happy hour is usually something one does on their way home after work. I'll stop by someplace in the city with 3-4$ any draft specials and have 4 beers before I hit the subway. Stopping by for a $4 Bud or $3 Shaefer...I'm not even walking in the door.

Very nice folks and it's always a pleasure to stop in there.

It seems they are still in a soft opening so I would just let them know your opinions or ideas are!

So - I have never been in this place. I like the idea, I just haven't had time. However, this is bringing the neighborhood down rather than up. The benches out front have turned into a shanty town. Yesterday evening someone was sleeping on the bench who had not seen a shower in many weeks. Today, in the middle of the afternoon, there was a gentleman sitting there openly smoking a J who spit all over the sidewalk in front of me. There is a woman who is routinely there asking passers by for money and metro cards. I would not really mind if I did not have to walk my kids by there everyday to take them to school. They need to regulate the folks sitting out front!
