Reminder: Hawthorne St. block party this Saturday, 9/12

City-of-hamburgers Just a reminder that the Flatbush-to-Bedford block of Hawthorne is having a block party this Saturday, from 8 am to 8 pm. (Rain date: Saturday, 9/19) The highlight this year is City Of Hamburgers, a puppet show with live music, by Alphabet Arts. The show will run three times, at 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm on the front porch of 99 Hawthorne. The show is free and open to the public, regardless of where you may live.

Other on-goings include a dance contest at 5:30 pm, a visit from the Knicks truck (free booty),  the Brooklyn Public Library Bookmobile, a clown, DJ, facepainting, a fire truck tour, a health fair with free mammograms, and various games for kids. The Church of the Evangel will be selling dinners and lots of residents of the block (including those in this household) will be out grilling in front of their homes.

Depending on the weather, Charles and I may bring out a kiddie pool and other playthings for toddlers. Make sure to come by and say hi!
