Coming Soon: King of Tandoor

King of Tandoor, an Indian restaurant, has put an awning up at the space formerly occupied by Veggie Hut (600 Flatbush Ave.,   between Rutland and Midwood). When we stopped by to take a picture, we were told to expect to be knee deep in saag by the end of the month.

Apparently they have another restaurant open on Flatbush. If it is Joy Indian, we are very fortunate, indeed. There is reason to believe that it is: when the owners of Joy opened a restaurant in Philadelphia, they named it "King of Tandoor."

Wine shop coming to Fenimore?

This rumor has been circulating for some time now but new evidence suggests it may actually happen: a wine shop is preparing to open at 65 Fenimore, just off of Flatbush. Bob Marvin pointed out the liquor license application. And a friend on Fenimore had the following conversation with one of the workers:

"So this is going to be a wine store?"
"Yes."
"A wine store like Liquor Town or a place that actually specializes in wines."
"An actual wine place."
"Thank you."

The place is currently gated up and unremarkable. We'll let you know when we find out more. Or, if you have any info, please leave it in the comments.
