Developing: Is Lime closed?
As Gabriel noted in the comments section below, there is a For Lease sign covering the hand-painted lime on the security grate at Lime Bar.
If it is closed, I'm very disappointed. Lou, the owner, is a really nice guy. While I didn't drink there very often (there is something unfair about going out for a beer when one's wife is pregnant) I did perform at Stand-Up Fridays once and really enjoyed myself.
More info as I find out more.
UPDATE: Lime is for sale on Craigslist.

I think this place didn't do better because of their awful drink specials. Their happy hour was like, a dollar off everything, which is terrible when they charge 8 bucks for a mixed drink. They had Midtown Manhattan prices on Flatbush, and that isn't a good plan. The place was beautiful though, so I'd like to see another owner come in and make it into something affordable and cool for PLG.

ideally whatever moves in should be a cafe during the day and a bar at night

Though the craigslist ad says 100000$, the broker is now claiming it is for sale for 350000$. Bait and switch..
Disappointing.
