B train hours to be extended

Btrain The MTA (no doubt trying to help justify the fare hike) just announced a few transit improvements scheduled for 2008, most notably, B train hours will be extended on weekdays. Other plans in the pipeline include increased service on the 1, 4, 5, G, L, and 7 trains. Unfortunately, no mention was made of an earlier MTA proposal to add 33 more buses to the B41 route, which goes up and Flatbush. Time will tell.

Glad to hear that the "B" train is extending hours. (Quitting southbound express ervice at 9:00 p.m. is ridiculous.) But it ain't enough. More "B" trains are needed during evening rush hours, period!

Each night I board the train for home at Broadway-Lafayette, a major station for the "B", "D", "F" and "V" trains. It simply boggles the mind the number of "F" and "V" trains (most of which are hardly ever crowded)that will stop, discharge, take on new passengers and leave the station, while I wait, wait, wait on one lousy, overcrowded "B" train that is going in the same direction. I just don't understand how a line that is so heavily traveled as the "B" could run so few trains during the evening rush hour!
